A smallish Flickr browser / Wednesday, October 18, 2006

This is a little widget I made which gets the 10 (update: now 17) most interesting pics from Flickr and creates polaroids from them. It’s also a tribute to Brendan’s Flickr widget.

The code uses Flashr to interact with data coming from Flickr. Try dragging the photos around by click-dragging the bottom lip of the polaroids. Also note that I haven’t tested this lil app much so a pre-emptive “whoops” if it misbehaves this iteration.

I’d like to keep the file size as small as possible. Right now it’s around 100k and that seems about right. Some attention needs to be paid to the usability as it’s kind of rough right now.

Cool… If you can add some kind of direction as to grab the top left of the pic… It took me a while to grab it.  I like it a lot.  Is this all flash programing?

Thanks Lafe, you make a good point. I just added some rollover feedback and I like it much better. Thank you. It’s not as explicit as, say, a “grab here” label but hopefully it provides more of a hint of the drag functionality.
