Things getting out of hand / Friday, November 10, 2006

This is a portion of a drawing (entire drawing here (.jpg, size: 415k)).

As can be seen in the large version, there are plenty of smaller parts in the sketch: miniature figures, tangles, and forms. My process here was to step aside, relax, and let the pen run the show. During this I let stories play around freely between the elements. This added for me a dimension of adventure and kept the flow of development moving forward.

Love this piece.  You should try doing poster art.  Your doodles remind me of poster art for bands.  Love your art cause it’s so different from mine.

Great work Sam.

Thanks, making this was a lot of fun for me. I’m not sure how commercially valid any of this stuff is, but as long as I am having fun I figure it might lead somewhere (like posters).

I believe that one of the signs of a great artist is the ability to draw hands effectively. Nice Work!
